DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 01 | COCHIN ARRIVAL

On your arrival at Cochin Airport, you will be met by our Intense India Tours representative, who will assist you and transfer you to the hotel. After freshening up, you may leave your room to take a short walk to the local market. Later return to the hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 02 | COCHIN

Post-breakfast, get ready for a local sightseeing tour of Cochin that includes India’s oldest Synagogue. We will also take a tour of the Dutch Palace and the oldest European Church in India – the St. Francis Church, where Vasco da Gama was originally buried. Later in the evening, take a leisurely walk through the Fort Cochin area to witness the vivacious European architecture and the vast and giant fixed Chinese fishing nets, which are still being used for fishing purposes along the coastline. In the evening, you will be taken to a Kathakali dance performance. Later return to the hotel and stay overnight.

DAY 03 | MUNNAR ( Approx. 125 Kms / 4 hrs drive)

Post breakfast, depart for Munnar, once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. The place is best known for its picturesque tea-covered hills. The misty roads, cloudy skies, and amazing views accompany your ride. On arrival in the hill town, check in to the hotel, and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

DAY 04 | MUNNAR

After a delicious breakfast, get ready for a sightseeing tour of Munnar. The first stop is the Tea Museum, where you will learn about the processing of the favourite brew of India. Later, explore the beauty of Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point and Kundale Lake. Afternoon visit Eravikulam National Park, famous for its Nilgiri Tahr and Neelakurinji flowers, which bloom once every 12 years. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 05 | THEKKADY ( Approx. 90 Kms / 3 hrs drive)

Post breakfast, depart for your next destination, i.e., Thekkady, located on the banks of the Periyar River. On arrival at the nature-blessed town, check in to the hotel after freshening up, and get ready for wildlife viewing at the sanctuary on Lake Periyar by boat cruise. Later in the evening, you will be taken on a guided tour of the spice plantation, wandering through the green farms to experience the real taste and aroma of these spices. Return to the hotel, with the evening free for your leisure, and overnight stay.

DAY 06 | ALLEPPEY ( Approx. 135 Kms / 4 hrs drive)

After taking breakfast, depart for your next destination, i.e. Alleppey. Best known for the palm-fringed canals, picturesque lakesides, and the tranquillity of this place, it can be best experienced with an overnight houseboat journey. So, on arrival in Alleppey, board a traditional houseboat of Kerala to explore and experience the backwater lifestyle of Kerala. Take on an overnight stay on the houseboat itself to witness the breathtaking panoramic views of nature’s beauty at its best.

DAY 07 | KOVALAM ( Approx. 160 Kms / 4 ½ hrs drive)

After breakfast, disembark from the houseboat and proceed to Kovalam by road. On arrival, check into the hotel after freshening up, explore the serene beaches of Kovalam, enjoy a walk and some sunbathing, and witness the breathtaking sunset. Later, return to the hotel and spend the night.

DAY 08 | KOVALAM – KANYAKUMARI – KOVALAM ( Approx. 90 Kms / 2 hrs drive)

On this day, after breakfast in the morning, relax on the beautiful beach of Kovalam, and later, take an excursion to the southernmost tip of Cadamom Hill, Kanyakumari, also known as Cape Comorin, during the British days. Surrounded by three seas, this island is the best place to view the picturesque sunrise and sunset. On the way to Kanyakumari, visit Padmanabhapuram Palace, a beautiful architectural gem built during the 16th century, famous for its opulent sculpted décor and rosewood carvings. On arrival in Kanyakumari, visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Later, drive back to Kovalam and stay overnight in a hotel.

DAY 09 | KOVALAM – TRIVANDRUM – DEPARTURE

The day after breakfast, you are free to relax and enjoy your time at your leisure. To make good use of the time available before departure, enjoy morning sightseeing of Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala. Later, drive to the airport to board the flight for your onward journey back home.
